Stanback back at the Docs :(

Man, I tell you I have had a lot of patience with this guy and hoped he would be special. After reading on www.dallascowboys.com that he was due to have surgery on his knee after an injury in the OTA, I officially have given up. It's time to cut him loose as "injury prone" and open space for someone else.

Perhaps it will be someone from 4th and Long, the new Michael Irvin reality show. Perhaps it will be Matt Jones or one of the other receivers out there. Any ideas or strong feelings? Come on fans, write back and let's chat up what to do to make this a season to remember.

Thanks for checking out The Boys of Fall

  1. Thanks for the blog. It'll be fun to see if we can get some guys here to bond and talk shop off the beaten path so to speak. I cant give up on Stanback yet, he just seems to have great vision so I'm willing to wait it out but it is frustrating.

  2. Are you friggin kiddin me? He's injured again? Just read the article and that sucks!

You might be right about finding someone through 4th and Long but that's only if a WR comes out the winner! Of course it's really going to suck for the winner if they are a DB this year with the depth we got through the draft. Mickens WILL be the steal of the draft.

Back to WR, you guys have to wait and see this Manuel Johnson kid from Oklahoma. I'm a bigtime Oklhahoma fan and have watched him play the last three years and he has the potential to be another great player for the Cowboys.

  3. Stacy T-- Thanks for kicking in a comment. I'm trying to get some regular die hard Cowboys fans to get a nice decent size group here to discuss the daily news as the season approaches. Thanks for getting involved. Shoot out a link if you know someone who might be interested in taking part.

  4. There's no reason to cut Stanback now. He's suppose to be ready by training camp. Might as well wait and see if he can make it through TC. The guy does have a lot to offer,IF he can stay healthy. If he can't, there's plenty of time to pull the plug on him.

  5. David, again, great comment. I love the few flashes Stanback has had....he just seems to have a knack for finding a seam. Just hope the injury bug is a bit of bad luck and not a sign of a serious underlying problem.

Additionally, what I've read about him seems like he is just a heck of a guy, really stand up person.

  6. I think the boys should cut Stanback and pick up a veteran reciever of the likes of Marvin Harrison? What do yall think>?
